Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore: Nurturing Excellence in Education Since 1993

Kendriya Vidyalayas hold a distinguished status as premier educational institutions across the nation, and Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore in Karnataka stands as a beacon of this tradition. Established on July 1st, 1993, under the Civil Sector, the school initially commenced with classes I to V, accommodating approximately 100 students within the temporary premises of the DFRL campus.

Since its inception, Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore has witnessed exponential growth, owing to the unwavering guidance of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC), the dedicated efforts of its faculty, and the relentless commitment of its students. Today, nestled within the serene environs of the GITB Press Campus, the school boasts a magnificent infrastructure, housing 2650 students under the tutelage of 85 proficient staff members.

Situated amidst the tranquil ambience of Mysore, the city of palaces, Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore caters comprehensively to the scholastic and co-curricular requisites of students from diverse backgrounds. The Vidyalaya is structured into five sections from Class I to X, and three sections in XI and XII. It offers a wide array of subjects in its Senior Secondary Section, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Computer Science, Maths/Hindi/Informatics Practices, and English, ensuring a holistic educational experience for its students.

In the year 2022-23, Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysuru was renamed as PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysuru, one of the 730 schools recognised under a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India. This initiative is intended to develop more than 14500 PM SHRI Schools for Rising India in which every student feels welcomed and cared for, where a safe and stimulating learning environment exists, where a wide range of learning experiences are offered, and where good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources conducive to learning are available to all students.
